Soliloquy

I am sitting at a table, Ease and comfort never tiring. The empty chairs call upon, The crackling blaze inquiring, For the shining one to come. [ref:] Space offers opportunity And forces everything to be. Time is my companion And shall never deceive me. They arrive, they laugh and haver, Plates are served, cups are drained, They come and go, as they did ever. The fire still burns, remarking silently That no one is left to talk to me. [ref] Wherein lies the sense of this, Whereto went they, what's one gains? Live is but a moment's kiss, Only memories is what remains.
